Does your house need repairs? How about thinking of creative ways to start that today, right now, after you read my article? Or even better, make the repairs of the house your theme for today, close the computer and go arrange that. Do you need to call somebody tomorrow? Look for the phone number and put it somewhere where you will see it. Do you need to buy stuff to make the repairs yourself? Make a list of materials and stick it on the most obvious door or mirror. Do you need to ask your neighbor for help? (I do:-) ) Make a point to go ask him or send him a mail or SMS or whatever, today. Do the first step and commit to it:-) Or maybe is your closet that needs some new kind of attention from you? I know "second hand shops" or "selling stuff on the internet" is not everywhere and option - but there are poor (or poorer that you!) people everywhere. Or even, maybe you could just put away the stuff that you do not use and give it away later. Like I said above, just take the first step. And, as someone I know always says, you can maybe do the mots annoying thing first :-) That does not work for me but it might for other people so there ya go :-) Or even, maybe your whole house could use a new more critical kind of look..:-) Try to keep what you need - and stuff you did not ever need but purchased.. Start using them or let them go :-) In my case, when I started really attentively looking at my stuff I noticed that sometimes I start using things only a few years after the purchase. That is kinda interesting to look at, too.. I carried those things around for a few years (and moved house 4 times) and now I am using them, now the respective things found their way into my daily life.. It's fascinating to me how that happens. But I had a kind of a sense about which things I could let go of when I moved and which things still held promises for me.. :-) coming back to you, you could even take a look at your bookcase. Which books did you read and you will ever read again? Not many of you are moving like me (I moved way too much!! - that is an eye opener about the stuff we have, for sure).. But not moving around also has the disadvantage that we just keep hoarding stuff and putting it somewhere in a corner to keep, we keep stuffing the corners with papers and books and things. Today an invitation to look at your home like that. Where can you make more room? Where can you clean and what can you put aside and give away or sell? What is the one big thing you can start with today? Or maybe it's just one small thing, it's just your table, or the sleeping room or just that corner or closet of the kitchen, or it's the amazing staple of books you have built over the last months next to your bed? You know better than anybody else what you are avoiding to touch:-) At the moment my untouchable is our garden, I avoided to touch it lately:-) It was too cold and too wet, it was not yet time, I did not (have) made time for it, etc.. And now that I am writing this I know I will want to tackle that soon - even if I do that to give a good example..:-) The compost hoop also needs some attention:-) So what is your house's untouchable that you can maybe touch today? Be gentle with yourself and also firm with your untouchable:-) day 12 prompts:
