More details about this soon, please keep a close eye on this blog. For now, let's get started: join me in making a commitment to ourselves. They say, how you begin a journey is everything. Did you ever pay attention how you begin your journeys? "Get in the car NOW!", "Did you shut the door?.." "Oh MY God, you never do..!".. "Where are the keys..?" "Why did you leave the garage door open, again?" ".. ".. and my lil pink bag? Where is my lil pink bag?.." .. Sounds painfully familiar? ..:-).. A few years ago I heard this story about the Russian people who, before they leave the house, sit for 5 minutes on their luggage, by the door. They just spend 5 minutes in silence, sitting together by the door, inside the house. So beautiful and conscious, don't you think? They calm down, they center, they say good bye and then they start their journey. Since I heard about it, I also make point in being totally ready to commit to every journey before I really start it and take the time for this. So that is what we are going to do together today. It might seem simple - actually, it is - but please (amuse me) join me. It will start your journey right. So here is my commitment to myself:
As you can see, nothing fancy:-) I repeated myself a lot.. (take care of myself? it seems that that is what I need right now, eh?) And I also accepted that this is where I am at at the moment. It does not matter how I write it, not even if it is pretty - although I like it if it is.. :-) I made one "empty" for you if you want to use mine, you can download it here: ![]()
![]() I also made a few others to give you some examples :-) I will post them here and you can:
Whatever you fancy, darlin'.:-) ![]() And a last example of a commitment, I literally copied it from the film "May I be Frank", an amazing film with a wonderful guy (now he is!) who shares his own journey to Shine. If you did not see it, it's worth it, and you will fall in love with the guy. At the beginning of his journey, he is also committing to it, by reading aloud the words of his choice. (authors of the words, the film and the mentors of Frank: the owners of the first Cafe Gratitude in LA) What I wrote here (translated to me) are actually not the words of his commitment but the words that he says to himself in the mirror (with witnesses) every morning. There is something about saying things to ourselves in the mirror that is very very confronting, even painfully so. Especially loving words. Did you ever try that? It took me ages to even really look into my eyes! (those films with people talking to themselves in the mirror? I call BS..:-) ) If you want to experience a powerful change, say these words to yourself every day for 30 days, follow along with this April's Shine and I am sure you will see miracles happen! I would love for you to share your commitment with me and the rest of the Shine travelers: either on Facebook, either by email. or Pinterest or Flickr... or Twitter.. Sharing your journey with me and everybody else will grow our Shining Powers exponentially:-) I am thinking of starting a Facebook group only for us though I know not everybody is on Facebook. I will let you guys know soon. Of course, I would also love it if you comment under this blog post, and I would love to share your commitment pictures here on the blog, later, if you allow me to. Please let me know! :-) PS: Please remember that if you follow along every day on this Journey (and you let me know!), you could be one of the three winners for my "Seeds of Shine Intensive!" soon to be released in May. Much much love and light to you!
