When I proposed an April SHINE challenge that would bring us from the Winter Slumber to the Sunny Summer I had no idea that the winter will still be lounging in my garden!
But still, it is. It is snowing today as we speak and write and read..:-)
Thus I believe a Shining Challenge is totally in order. It starts in 3 days, on April 1st (no fools here, right?), and for most of us it will be right after we had delighted in all those Easter chocolate rabbits and eggs:-)
I am sure most of you can relate..:-)

I invite you to become friends with yourself. If you are already, even better, think of how you can make this friendship even sweeter. Think, how would you treat a loved one if she/he would come to visit for only 30! Days?
I invite you to commit to yourself. From one Shining Mama to other Shining Mama's (and we have a few Shining Papa's amongst us, too!!) - I am honored that you go along with me on this journey and I applaud you for being willing to take the time for yourself.

Not because time will run out if you don't...But because you recognize you're worth the time and attention and energy you give yourself.

I feel that taking the time to come back to ourselves and giving ourself permission to start shining is immensely important, not only to us as persons but also for our family and friends (guess who will be a shining example, wink wink) - and even for our boss:-).. He or she may thank me later!:-)
So what can you expect from the Shining Mama? To the ones who are on April's Shine list (thank you!) - you will get an email from me everyday, for your convenience, with the theme of the day, loaded with love, good vibrations and a pretty link that will take you to the blog for the evening. For now, an introduction vid:
- journaling . Every day I will purpose a "food for thought and heart" theme (I'll post a vid and most probably write about it). I find that journaling in any form helps with putting things in order and distilling. It can be any kind of journal, fancy, no fancy, your choice. You can "do" a creative journal where you take a picture everyday (related or not to the day theme or to what comes up for you). You could also make a drawing, a collage, a doodle or (intuitively) paint. You could write whatever thoughts (or rants!) that come around the theme of the day or you could only write one big beautiful word on a Post It . Whatever you do, it would be a proof of your journey to look at if you do that consistently and every day. And even better, post it along on the blog or on my Facebook page. Or you can share it with me on email. As an incentive, I will post my everyday symbol or drawing on the blog.
- love journal: I find that another part of any journey into our "stuff" depends on our ability to find gratitude for the big or small things Dear Life gives us. If you'll write these things everyday it will lift you up and give you an amazingly beautiful perspective on living on this beautiful planet. No matter what was in your life in the past, please intend to love this moment and you will see it's beauty. I will write my Love Journal every day these 30 days and I invite you to join me. For an even more powerful experience, post your Love Journal under my blog post everyday, even short and to the point:-) I will let you know where that will be.
- green smoothies: I drink them everyday for almost two years. They give me life, water, energy and health like I have never experienced before. Some thing worth trying, I believe :-) If you have some time, you can read here more about my journey with the green elixirs, like I lovingly call them. Anywaysis, I would like to invite you to join me in blending leaves with apples and/or lemons:-) You will find a lot of recipes on my "nourishing" blog and I am thinking to send you a plan for shopping per week, if you need one.. Do you? Please tell me. The basic idea is to vary your greens and to make your smoothie very yummy. And chew it while you drink it, so that your insides will know what's comin' :-) That's all:-) Start small, make them sweet enough for you in the beginning (=3 leaves + 4 apples) and experiment. Know that you can always "repair" a smoothie if you taste it and it's not yummy. And as a rule, do not put starchy things in your smoothie. that will produce inside explosions and we don't want that:-)
- detox tips: every day I will send you easy to do tips on how to care for your body (on the outside) in a natural way, with natural (aka=mostly good to eat) materials that you could find in your kitchen.. These are things I do every day or once in a while, and they all served my body well. You can maybe try them and incorporate in your life the ones that "speak" to your body. They are my discoveries over years of searching so I hope you will enjoy them as much as I do.
