I am so so happy and excited to tell you: it's out and ready!

Ta ta raaa taaaaa!

My (free) Shiny book of Green Smoothies is ready for download.

It's totally yours, for free.

It's based entirely on my own experience of 3 plus years drinking at least 1l green smoothie every day.

I wrote it short and to the point so that if you and/or a friend want to start with drinking green smoothies (or want to know why that would be good for you), you could read it in a day and have a strong base for whatever your decision will be, yay or nay.

Green smoothie for beginners with strawberries and mango - how to

As always, we talk about organic - and raw.
Recipe today, makes 2l:

* one mango with peel;

* 100-150g strawberries;

* 1/2 lemon peeled;

* 150g nettle tops;

* water - filtered and loved - to fill;

If it's not sweet enough (taste it before you put it in the containers and wash the blender) you can use some low glycemic raw sweetener - like raw organic honey.

  • 3 stems celery - cut in small pieces;
  • 1 apple cut in pieces (with core and peel and all);
  • 1 lemon - peeled and halved
  • 1 bunch of mint - only the leaves;
  • 1 cucumber with peel - cut in pieces;
  • water to fill - filtered and loved;

in the video I add:
  • one avocado (I show you how to most efficiently peel it)
  • and one banana

Today was the green smoothie so super yummy that I drank 2 liters in one go :-) (and chewed a bit on it, too, yeah) :-)

It contained:
  • sorrel - 200g (yes! Love the sorrel!!)
  • nettle 100g; (idem!!)
  • 2 lemons peeled and halved
  • 1 bog orange peeled and cut in small pieces
  • a banana
  • 500 ml freshly squeezed orange juice (yum)
  • ginger (to taste - mine was big - 2cm - as I had the surprise of some little tiny itsy bitsy sour throat last night - the first one in two years and I used to have tons before the green smoothies)
  • water - filtered and loved - to fill the Vitamix.

this one was amazingly yummy and simple so here it is:

  • 200g nettles (from my garden, long live the weeds :-D)
  • 200g blueberries;
  • 2 lemons peeled and halved
  • 2 bananas
  • ginger (2 cm)
  • water to fill the Vitamix (loved and filtered)

It's not that I stopped making the green smoothies but I took a day of time-out from writing anything on April's shine, as I was writing and drawing all kind of other things..:-)

Today's recipe is again with nettles, I love it that they are readily available anywhere and they are so yummy and green.
  • nettle leaves: 200g;
  • 2 lemons peeled and halved;
  • 2 oranges peeled and halved;
  • 1/2 cucumber;
  • 1/2 fennel;
  • 1 banana - peeled:-)
  • water to fill - filtered and loved as always.

Yes!!!! My first crop EVER!
today I made a Happy Smoothie with my own weeds :-)
  • some 200g of nettle (young leaves) and dandelion (leavs and flowers) - the gloves are for nettles - ouch! (they still sting the first 24 hours and if you harvest yourself wear gloves..
  • 2 lemons (peeled and halved)
  • 2 bananas
  • celery - 3 stems cut in small pieces
  • ginger 
  • water to fil;

YUUUUMMMMYYYYYY :-)

In the Vitamix today:
  • one avocado 
  • one banana
  • 2 lemons peeled and halved
  • 150 g nettles (yum);
  • celery - 4 stems, cut in small pieces;
  • (optional) 1 tb. spoon spirulina powder;
  • water (filtered and loved) to fill.

As you can see from the recipe, it's not very sweet, that banana does not have much effect :-)

If you want it sweeter, make it sweeter - however, if you followed the April's shine recipes from the beginning of the month, you might just as well try it first like it is:-) Or even, drink a bit of it as is and make the rest sweeter if you still want to:-)

First I made apple + carrots + ginger;
I made 2l from:
  • 2 kg apples
  • 1/2 kg carrots
  • some ginger;

V. had a lot of the juice, I used:
  • about 700ml apple+carrot+ginger juice;
  • 5 celery stems - cut in small pieces and bathed;
  • 2 ripe avocados (they are ripe when they are as soft as your eyeballs - ehmmm please do not hurt yourself:-) )
  • water to fill (loved and filtered)

Blend till smooth.
I added (optional for you):
  • chlorella - 1 heaping tb. spoon.

(I first added only one avocado but there was a lot of foam still - see picture) - so I added another one.

Today another light one:
  • 4 celery stems with leaves, cut in small pieces and bathed;
  • 2 lemons peeled and halved;
  • 1 apple cut, with core and peel;
  • lettuce leaves 100g;
  • water to fill - filtered and loved;

optional:
  • spirulina 1 tb. spoon;
  • Sun Warrior protein 1 tb. spoon
  • probiotic 1 tb. spoon
