I am so so happy and excited to tell you: it's out and ready!

Ta ta raaa taaaaa!

My (free) Shiny book of Green Smoothies is ready for download.

It's totally yours, for free.

It's based entirely on my own experience of 3 plus years drinking at least 1l green smoothie every day.

I wrote it short and to the point so that if you and/or a friend want to start with drinking green smoothies (or want to know why that would be good for you), you could read it in a day and have a strong base for whatever your decision will be, yay or nay.

Today, baby spinach smoothie with:

  • baby spinach (duh:-) ) 150g;
  • 1 big apple core and all;
  • lemon (peeled and cut);
  • 1 small banana (peeled yeah);
  • ginger big one;
  • water to fill;

Also I added:
  • lecithin, I need it:-) 2 tb. spoons (it also adds great taste and texture);
  • chlorella 1 tb spoon;
  • 1 tb. spoon probiotica;

April Shine - day 2 - green smoothie

Love note; all my smoothies are made with a Vitamix, meaning that the quantities below are for a 2l can. Please adapt your quantities according to your blender. 

Today's green smoothie:
  • baby spinach 150g; left overs (tomorrow we go to the market for new leaves!)
  • 2 lemons peeled and cut in halves;
  • 2 small bananas; peeled, duh:-);
  • celery tops - 10 stems washed (be ware of all that ground at the base of the stems) and cut in small pieces;
  • chlorella just to make it greener :-D;
  • ginger - to taste;
  • water filtered and loved, to fill;

  • purslane - 150 g;
  • some left overs cilantro, around 10 stems; 
  • chlorella 1 tb spoon;
  • ginger, around 1,5 cm;
  • cucumber - one small one cut in pieces;
  • water - filtered and loved - to fill the Vitamix

  • 2 lemons - peeled and cut in pieces;
  • 2 (red) oranges - peeled and cut in pieces;
  • a big bunch (really huge) flat leaves parsley - around 200g;
  • spinach - around 200g;
  • ginger 2cm;
  • water to fill the Vitamix;


This one tastes a bit sweet - it might be the parsley..:-)

It made a lot of foam by the first blending because there is not so much solvable fruit in there. 

Really delicious and fresh one!

I admit, Sometimes I beat myself at my own game. Like yesterday, I intended to make a pate out of the sprouted sunflower seeds..
But.. somewhere in the afternoon something was stinking. I thought that it was the fish package. I got rid of it.. I thought there were other things.. Only this morning, when I wanted to finally the pate, oeps!! I discovered that it was my seeds that were stinking as hell.. I realize now that I did not wash them enough and I did not love them enough.. If you do not want this to happen to your sprouts - ever - you maybe should purchase a better sprouting system.. If you are interested, let me know, I will tell you what you can best do.

So I did no pate yesterday or today.. I will sprout some more sunflower seeds and I will not let them go bad.. hopefully..

Today a special one:
  • 1l cocos water (not so raw today cause pasteurized.. but I love it's taste and could not buy the coconuts so decided to use it);
  • mango - the exterior half, with peel and a bit of flesh;
  • 1 tb. spoon pumpkin seeds butter (organic and pure but also not raw);
  • a few big kale leaves without stem (a new soort, I found it at the bio-market yesterday, please see the vid below for more info about kale);
  • two hands-full sunflower sprouts (also see the vid)
  • 2 lemons (peeled and chopped)
  • 1 orange (peeled and chopped)
  • around 100g lamb's lettuce;
  • a bit of water to fill the Vitamix

today's green smoothie:
  • one big cucumber (sliced)
  • 2 lemons (peeled and sliced)
  • some stevia leaves (because I had plucked my stevia plant) (not enough to have a significant taste influence but I like stevia leaves aroma)
  • some mint leaves I had left
  • 3 celery sticks (cut) (also leftovers:-)
  • 150 spinach (today is market day and I did not have more than that any more)
  • ginger (2 cm)
  • water (filtered and loved)

This one is a bit more sour than usual so if you want a sweeter one, act accordingly:-)

When I asked today what kind of milk he wants (because I had almonds soaking over night), V. answered: "apple milk"..

Wow. haven't made that one before:-)

But because I am good at inventing recipes (see also the next blog post!!) I immediately saw in my mind what I wanted to put in it:-)

Apple milk:
  • almond milk 1.5l - look here how to make one if you need to - and than come right back for the rest of the recipe!:-);
  • bitsy bit of salt (pink Himalayan);
  • one tea spoon cinnamon;
  • one heaping spoon honey;
  • 2 bananas.. peeled:-);
  • 2 soft apples (not peeled, with seeds & all) (cut);
  • a decent piece of ginger (but not too big cause V. does not enjoy it much, something like 1.5cm cubic);
  • lecithin (1 heaping tb. spoon)
