today's green smoothie

today's green smoothie:

one big cucumber (sliced)
2 lemons (peeled and sliced)
some stevia leaves (because I had plucked my stevia plant) (not enough to have a significant taste influence but I like stevia leaves aroma)
some mint leaves I had left
3 celery sticks (cut) (also leftovers:-)
150 spinach (today is market day and I did not have more than that any more)
ginger (2 cm)
water (filtered and loved)

This one is a bit more sour than usual so if you want a sweeter one, act accordingly:-)

green smoothie for you

Today's green elixir is made of:

cucumber 1/2 big one
spinach 300g
spirulina 1 heaping tb. spoon;
1 lemon (peeled)
1 orange (peeled)
1 pear with all (really soft and sweet one)
water (filtered and loved)
seeds from one pomegranate fruit.
some mint

Today I wanted to drink it as is.
Loved the taste and the color. If you do not have / add the spiruline it will be reddish-er).

apple milk and green milk smoothie

When I asked today what kind of milk he wants (because I had almonds soaking over night), V. answered: "apple milk"..

Wow. haven't made that one before:-)

But because I am good at inventing recipes (see also the next blog post!!) I immediately saw in my mind what I wanted to put in it:-)

Apple milk:

almond milk 1.5l - look here how to make one if you need to - and than come right back for the rest of the recipe!:-);
bitsy bit of salt (pink Himalayan);
one tea spoon cinnamon;
one heaping spoon honey;
2 bananas.. peeled:-);
2 soft apples (not peeled, with seeds & all) (cut);
a decent piece of ginger (but not too big cause V. does not enjoy it much, something like 1.5cm cubic);
lecithin (1 heaping tb. spoon)

yellow almond milk

Wil je het recept voor vegetarische melk in het Nederlands? kijk hier.

V. asked to make yellow milk (because I cannot do it that good by myself, he said).. :-)

Today in my sharpies written gratitude jars.

We put in:

(raw organic) almonds (soaked overnight) (around 300g);
1l water (filtered and loved)

We blended and made the milk.
I know that some people do all the ingredients in and than put it through the nut-milk bag or cheese cloth but I d not like that much.
(..and while I write Victor is watching Caillou in Spanish on the Ipad and he asks: how do you say mama in Spanish?.. I say: also mama, I believe.. he says: no, it's Mammie.. :-) )

green smoothie march 1st (martisor!)

Today:

1/2 cucumber;
~200g (green) chard
1 lemon peeled and sliced
1 bergamot lemon peeled and sliced
1 (red) orange peeled and sliced
water (filtered and loved) to fill the Vitamix (around 1l)

You can also add (I did! :-D ):

probiotica 2 tb,spoon
astragalus 1 tb. spoon
raw cacao 2 tb spoons
SunWarrior protein (natural) 1 tb spoon
red maca (1 tb spoon)

green smoothie today.. light green milk, more like it:-)

cashew milk, cashew yogurt, green smoothie

Wil je het recept voor vegetarische melk in het Nederlands? kijk hier.

Today I soaked cashews.
Lots of them because I wanted to make some thick yogurt.

The result is what you see on the far left and the far right.

The middle green was a left over from the day before.

How I have made it:

about 400 g soaked over night cashews (cover well with water because the swell)
1 l water filtered and loved.

green smoothie with maca & protein

Three recipes (or something like that).
Read on to see what happened..
(As always, we are talking raw and organic stuff.)

You know I love my Vitamix and, like with all the other horses we have in this house (like the iPad, the 2 Macs, the Sedona-tje and the Huron), I can totally say to the ones that say there's life before Vitamix and bliss after finding one:-) (sorry if I bore you with it but it's real love).

I filled it this morning (2l capacity, for the ones who have another blender) with:

celery sticks (a whole bunch, maybe 10 sticks)
1 lemon peeled (and in half)
1 (red) orange, peeled (and cut in half)
1 small apple (was very soft)
VERY MUCH mint:-) (like, the leaves of 15 mint plants, i just love it)
a bit of honey just because it's winter
a bit of purslane left overs from yesterday
